Seminar of developing the works of police establishments in Sulaymania Province

Five Seminars and one Topic for the police station officers in five different districts:
Within the activities of the project of (Monitoring the prisons and police stations) that DHRD conducting it in cooperation with Diakonia, several seminars were conducted from June 1st 2010 till December 31st 2010 in the cities of Sulaymania Sep. 20th 2010, Rania Sep. 26th 2010, Kalar October 28th 2010, Halabja October 10th 2010 and Chamchamal October 14th 2010> about 76 officers and deputy officers were participated. A topic on (Preventing torture and illegal detention) presented by the lawyer (Karwan Kamal). That he indicated the reasons and causes of torturing and arresting warrants. In addition to arresting people by governs units such as (Governorate District and small city managements). Also he talked on the Iraqi laws, International laws and conventions regarding torture, then the participants intervened and discussed with the lecturer about the topics axis’s. At the end of the seminar evaluation form were distributed on the participants that they mentioned the importance of conducting such events for all police officers.
